Google Looks to Enhance Security Standards for Android Applications

Atheer – Oman News Agency
American company Google has decided to enhance security standards for applications that work with the Android operating system developed by Google, both for smart phones and tablets.
The company stated that as of August 2018 the online application store Google Play will only accept applications that support the latest Android functions.
The same rules will apply to updates to existing applications that will be placed on Google Store as of November 2018. The new rules will not apply to existing applications that have not been updated.
The new rule is designed to ensure that applications downloaded through Google Store comply with current security and performance standards, to help developers protect users from hacking and phishing.
This will not only guarantee greater protection against piracy and spyware, but also more control over access to available applications.
