This year’s Muscat Festival kicks off on the 18th of January under the theme ‘Let’s Celebrate Together.’ The festival will continue until the 10th of February.
The festival is a family destination and a forum for thought, culture and arts. It has a variety of activities, events and competitions on offer.
The 18th edition of the annual festival is going to boast a number of new entertaining, cultural, sport, touristic and economic activities, in addition to sciences and arts.
This year’s festival will be held at Al Amirat Public Park, Al Naseem Public Park, the Oman Automobile Club, a number of cultural venues, the Tour of Oman and Oman Cruise, as well as the Al Madinah Theatre and Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Doors to Muscat Festival sites at Al Naseem Public Park and Al Amirat Public Park will open from 4 pm to 11 pm during the week days, running until midnight during weekends.
Khalid Mohammed Bahram, Assistant Chairman of Muscat Municipality for Services and Assistant Head of Muscat Festival’s Organising Committee, noted that this edition of the Muscat Festival marks its 20th anniversary.
The festival organising committee has put great effort into preparations through a careful selection of activities and programmes.
Bahram added that Al Naseem Public Park will host a range of educational, creative and recreational activities and programmes for children to develop their cognitive abilities, notably the Family Village and the Children’s Theatre.
The festival will include an entertainment and arts park, a commercial exhibition, a small heritage village with various traditional arts, theatre, varied interactive activities with the public, as well as a daily firework display.
