The Ministry of Transport and Communications has taken the decision to change the name of Sohar Industrial Port to the Port of Sohar and the name of the Bidbid-Sur Road to the Al Sharqiyah Expressway.
The Port of Sohar serves as the main gateway to the logistics system serving the countries of the GCC as well as the rest of the world.
The 248 kilometre-long Al Sharqiyah Expressway, which is currently being constructed by the ministry, passes through the Governorates of North and South Al Sharqiyah. It is a main road linking Muscat with the North and South A’Sharqiyah.
