His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications, has said that the passenger terminal at the new Muscat International Airport will be in operation as of the 20th of March. Al Futaisi referred to the new airport as being a focal point for the world.
In a statement issued by the ministry, he said that all incoming and departing flights were to be transferred from the current airport to the new airport.
The Minister explained that operations were ready to commence, following a series of tests being carried out to ensure that the move to the new airport was safe and efficient
His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Futtaisi praised the efforts exerted into what he described as a great national project, by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the General Authority for Civil Aviation, the Royal Oman Police, Oman Airports Management Company and all other parties involved.
