The Omani Penal Code contains an article criminalising the defamation of heads of state and their representatives while they are in the Sultanate.
Article 102 of the Omani Penal Code stipulates that “any person who publicly defames a foreign head of state or a representative of a foreign state while they are in the Sultanate shall be punished by imprisonment for a period not less than three months and no more than three years.
