The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has started receiving applications for reinforced concrete import licenses through e-one stop station Bayan.
Companies, traders and importers wishing to import reinforced concrete are required to submit applications through Bayan.
A conformity certificate, a test report issued by a third party laboratory, a copy of the purchase invoice to process the application at the Directorate General for Standards and Metrology, as well as the issuance of the release permit, are all required.
Idris Hassan Al Sinan, Civil Engineer at the Department of Conformity at the Directorate General of Standards and Metrology, said that this aims to regulate the labour market with regard to the importation of building materials and ensuring the conformity of these materials with the standard specifications in place for public safety.
