A source in Kuwait has confirmed that there is no truth to rumours that have been circulating over the last few days, suggesting that a complaint has been filed by Omani supporters injured when barriers at the Jaber Al Sabah stadium collapsed following the Gulf Cup final.
“No complaint has been filed at this time and the Omani fans have not put forward a legal representative to the Kuwaiti lawyers mentioned in the news,” the source told Asharq Al-Awsat.
The source added that lawyers are still considering filing a complaint against direct officials at the Jaber Al Sabah Stadium, even if the Omani supporters who were affected choose not to.
A number of social networking sites have been reporting that the Omani fans filed a complaint against stadium officials through Kuwaiti lawyers.
