The Ministry of Transport and Communications has announced the establishment of the Oman Aviation Group, with the group holding its first meeting today under the chairmanship of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Futaisi.
According to the ministry’s official Twitter account, the Oman Aviation Group brings together all civil aviation sector companies owned at least in part by the government.
The new group includes Oman Air, Oman Airports Management Company, Oman Aviation Services Company and the Oman Navigation and Meteorology Company, in addition to others.
The Oman Aviation Group will develop and manage government investments in infrastructure and services within the civil aviation sector, building key performance indicators as well as handle strategic, financial and economic planning of the group’s subsidiaries.
