The Ministry of Education has signed an agreement with Oman LNG, pertaining to a project to supply school buses to a school in South Al Sharqiyah with security and safety equipment.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Nasser Abdullah Al Abri, Director General of the General Directorate of Education in South Al Sharqiyah and by Oman LNG CEO Sheikh Khalid Abdullah Al Masn.
The project aims to control bus speed overruns, with the system providing immediate reports of the bus driver’s compliance with attendance and departure times, as well as clear data on the number of students at each stop in the bus lane. In addition, it warns the driver if a student is left behind.
A total of 284 buses will be fitted with the safety equipment during the first phase of the project.
Dr. Al Abri said that the project was on of the most important adopted by the directorate, supporting the educational process by building trust and communication between parents and teachers.
The agreement also comes in line with the belief of Oman LNG that it is important for the community to cooperate for the sake of public interest.
