His Excellency Yahya Said Al Jabri, Chairman of the Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD), has signed an agreement for the implementation of Roads 1 and 5 at the economic zone on the 15th of February.
This project comes at a cost of 38.8 million Omani Rials, in addition to the 9.6 million Omani Rial service corridor from Duqm Refinery to the liquid and bulk dock at Duqm Port.
Khalid Bin Ahmed and Sons will implement the first project within a time span of 27 months, while Al Qurum Projects and Maintenance, in partnership with Bateel, will execute the second project within 548 days.
The two projects are part of the authority’s efforts to complete the implementation of the infrastructure works of the Special Economic Zone in Duqm (SEZD).
The roads project is highly significant for SEZD, linking the port of Duqm with the refinery and several strategic projects that will be implemented over the coming period in the heavy industries area.
The agreement also includes the construction of two service roads of a length of around 6.7 kilometres.
The corridor extends from the site of the Duqm Refinery to the export berth in the port of Duqm, at a length of 6.5 kilometres and a width of 37.2 metres.
