The Coast Guard in Musandam has seized smuggling boat off the coast, with a number of narcotic substances discovered on board.
Elsewhere in Musandam the Coast Guard towed three boats that had broken down near due to engine failure near Khasab and Strait of Hormuz. The boats were towed to the ports of Khasab and Kumzar.
Furthermore the Muscat Coast Guard provided assistance to three Omani fishing boats that broke down near Seeb and Azaiba, with the boats being towed back to shore.
There were also a number of cases in Al Sharqiyah wereby the coast guard provided assistance to boats stranded at sea.
The Royal Oman Police (ROP) called on boat owners to take a sufficient amount of fuel and ensure that they have safety tools and first aid on board before setting out to sea.
