Salam Air has inaugurated its first flight to Shiraz in the Islamic Republic of Iran, bringing the airline’s total number of destinations to nine.
The budget airline will operate two flights a week from Muscat to Shiraz at prices starting from 80 Omani Rials return per person.
Captain Mohammed Ahmed, Salam Air CEO, told Atheer exclusively that addition of this new route came following growing passenger demand.
“Many Omanis fly to Shiraz for treatment in the past being forced to take multiple flights to reach Shiraz. Now the direct route will be at the very convenient time of 12:50 pm.”
The CEO added that Salam Air also hoped to attract tourists to Muscat.
“2017 was a success for Salam Air, with the launch of operations in the Sultanate. As of today we have transported more than half a million passengers to over eight destinations and we look forward to continuing our achievements next year,” he added.
The Muscat-Shiraz route will be on Sundays and Wednesdays, leaving Muscat at 12:50 and arriving at Shiraz International Airport at 13:50 pm.
