In celebration of the achievement of the national football team winning the 23rd Gulf Cup, Oman Post, in cooperation with the National Museum and the Omani Football Federation, has launched a photo exhibition called ‘Arabian Gulf Cup 23’ and a stamp collection named ‘Oman 23rd Gulf Cup Champions.’
The inauguration ceremony was held at the National Museum in Muscat, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Nader bin Mohammed bin Abbas Al Said, in the presence of Abdulmalik Abdul Karim Al Balushi, Oman Post CEO, Mohsen bin Hamad Al Masrouri, First Vice President of the Oman Football Federation, Jamal Al Mousawi, Director of the National Museum and a number of officials and visitors to the museum.
The ceremony started with a speech by Mohsen Al Masrouri, in which he said that the national team’s victory at the Gulf Cup in Kuwait is a distinctive achievement, that came only with the support of everyone.
Al Masrouri stressed that a number of governmental and private bodies have made every effort to contribute to the success of the national team, which has resulted in another title for Omani sport. Al Masrouri thanked Oman Post and the National Museum for organising and sponsoring the celebration.
Abdulmalik Abdul Karim Al Balushi said that the ceremony was in honour of a group of young Omanis who had brought joy to all. He pointed out that the issuance of the postal stamp on this occasion reflects the desire to commemorate and document this achievement for future generations, explaining that postage stamps are a means of cultural communication between different countries and peoples, helping nations document their own history.
His Highness Sayyid Nader welcomed the launch of stamp collection ‘Oman 23rd Gulf Cup Champions,’ before going on to open the photo exhibition ‘Arabian Gulf Cup 23,’ which includes pictures of the national team players from the Gulf Cup.
Oman Post has issued postage stamps for a number of events and achievements over the years.
