Salam Air to introduce direct flights to Taif in May

Salam Air, Oman’s budget airline, has announced direct seasonal flights between Muscat and Taif in Saudi Arabia.

Flights will start on the 15th of May, with tickets starting at 99 Omani Rials return.

“Our goal is to facilitate travel for those who want to perform Umrah, by providing convenient and competitive travel,” said Captain Mohammed Ahmed, Salam Air CEO.

He went on to say that its close proximity to Mecca, as well as its modern airport, makes Taif a favourite for pilgrims from the Sultanate.

“The were no direct flights between Taif and Muscat and we have noted the growing demand for this destination.”

The airline will operate three flights a week between Muscat International Airport and Taif. Flights will depart Muscat at 11:00 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, reaching Taif Airport at 1:20 am. The return flights will be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Taif at 2:10 am and reaching Muscat at 6:35 am.
