Company Fleet Energy is said to be negotiating with the Sultanate regarding the import of natural gas and provide it to a number of factories in Egypt.

The company has agreed in principle with local Egyptian factories to supply quantities of natural gas and is waiting for the end of the presidential election to sign the final contracts.

With gas reserves of around twenty billion cubic metres, Oman is the world’s ninth largest exporter of gas, having exported 8.1 million tonnes in 2017. According to the International Gas Federation, this was 3.1 percent of the world’s total.

Fleet Energy was established in 2007 in Panama and has a head office in Dubai, as well as a number of branches in Egypt, Russia and Libya.
